I’m So Fancy, from vintage to art deco
First things first: your wedding should be the realest. How can you make your wedding stand out amongst the masses?
Our best advice is to pick a theme and stick with it every step of the way. It’s important not to pick an overdone theme and it should absolutely, without a doubt, capture the personality of the couple.
One of our favorite buzz words in the wedding industry is “vintage.” The word vintage, however, can be a bit generic. And, don’t forget, we’re trying to stay away from monotonous. So, let’s be more specific and go with “art deco.”
What couple’s personality works with this theme? Let’s see. The groom prefers bowties to neckties and the bride often works cat-eye makeup. They have likely combined their vinyl collection and are often referred to as “old souls.”
The picture above captures said couple. The beading in her dress and headpiece and the simplicity of his bowtie and boutonniere work together excellently. Don’t even get us started on the venue.
Next, we have to talk about these decorations. There is just the right amount of floral touches in every scene. The signage both blends in and stands out, adding a touch of elegance. And the cake is simply perfect for the theme.
Wedding prints that adhere to a theme is one of the most fun ways to design for a couple. Art Deco is all about geometric shapes, as portrayed in the borders and liners of the image above. Lace, of course, is essential. As for the bling on the belly band? Well, some things never go out of style.
